The NDIS funds practical support for tasks your disability makes difficult or impossible to do independently.

Funded tasks include:

• Personal care such as showering, dressing, grooming, and continence support
• Meal preparation, grocery shopping, and safe kitchen assistance
• Household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and home organisation
• Morning and evening routine support to help you start and end the day
• Medication prompting to keep your health routine on track

The exact tasks funded depend on your individual plan and what the NDIA determines is reasonable and necessary for your goals.

Daily living support sits within your Core Supports budget, specifically under Assistance with Daily Life.

• Your NDIA planner or LAC adds it to your plan during your planning meeting or plan review
• Core Supports funding is flexible, so you direct hours to the tasks you need most
• You do not need a separate plan category for basic personal care and household assistance
• If your plan does not yet include this, an OT report describing your functional limitations strengthens your request

Your Support Coordinator or Plan Manager helps you use this funding correctly so it does not run out before your plan review.

Active Overnight Support and Sleepover Support are separately funded NDIS line items within Core Supports. If you require support during the night, whether active or passive, your planner includes these as distinct items in your plan. Our team provides both types of overnight support for participants who need assistance at night due to their disability.

To get overnight support added to your plan, provide your NDIA planner with evidence of your overnight support needs. An OT report or medical documentation is usually required. Contact us to discuss how overnight support fits into your current or upcoming plan.

NDIS pricing for Assistance with Daily Life follows the annual NDIS Pricing Arrangements published by the NDIA.

Key pricing points to know:

• Standard weekday rates apply Monday to Friday during standard hours
• Evening, Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday rates are higher than weekday rates
• Active Overnight Support and Sleepover Support are priced separately from daytime support
• We charge at or below the NDIS Price Guide limits at all times

Participant choice is a core principle of the NDIS. You have the right to express preferences about your support worker, including gender, cultural background, language spoken, and personal compatibility. We take these preferences seriously and match you with a worker based on your stated needs and daily routine.

If the match is not right, you request a change at any time without penalty. Our team maintains support workers across Greater Sydney so we find an appropriate match for most participants quickly.

No. Participants with agency-managed, plan-managed, or self-managed budgets can all access daily living support from a registered provider. If your plan is agency-managed, you must use a provider registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We are registered (Reg. No. 4050094160), so you qualify under all plan management types.

If you are self-managed or plan-managed, you have more flexibility in choosing providers, but using a registered provider still gives you access to workers who meet NDIS screening and quality standards.

Getting started is straightforward once your NDIS plan includes Core Support funding.

Steps to begin:

• Contact us by phone or through our website to discuss your needs and current plan
• Share your NDIS plan details or have your Support Coordinator connect with us
• We prepare a support plan aligned with your goals, routine, and budget
• You sign a service agreement before support begins
• Your matched support worker starts on an agreed date and schedule

If your plan review is coming up and you do not yet have Assistance with Daily Life funding, we advise you on how to request it.

Daily living support is funded under the same Assistance with Daily Life category for children as for adults, though specific safeguarding requirements apply to support workers delivering care to minors. Contact us directly to confirm availability and to discuss your child’s specific support needs and the required worker checks.

For young adults transitioning out of school or family care, we provide goal-focused daily living support that builds practical independence skills over time.

Both Assistance with Daily Life and Supported Independent Living fund daily task support, but they apply to different living situations.

Key differences:

• Assistance with Daily Life funds support for participants living in their own home or family home, with workers visiting for specific hours
• SIL funds support in a shared or specialist disability accommodation setting where support is available throughout the day
• SIL includes the cost of the support provided, not the accommodation itself
• Daily living support hours are more flexible and easier to adjust as your needs change
• SIL requires a separate NDIS assessment and approval process

Your Support Coordinator helps you determine which fits your current living situation.

All support workers complete training aligned with NDIS quality standards before delivering care. This includes person-centred support, safe handling and mobility assistance, medication prompting, and communication with participants who have complex needs. Workers also hold current NDIS Worker Screening Checks as required by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

For participants with specific or complex disability needs, we coordinate with your allied health team, Support Coordinator, or family to ensure your worker understands your individual requirements before support begins.
